Welcome to the official website of the Association of Chief Trading Standards Officers

The Association, which is a Section of the Trading Standards Institute (TSI), provides support and help to the Heads of the Trading Standards Services in England & Wales. One of the main objectives is to provide leadership and management training which is a significant benefit to the Local Authority, as well as part of an officer’s personal and professional development.

Individual Membership is for the Head of Trading Standards although in the majority of cases their annual subscription is paid by their Local Authorities and in which case the membership can be transferred during the year if a new officer takes on that role in the Authority. The Individual membership subscription for 2011 is £110.

Corporate membership allows for up to three senior managers, in or responsible for Trading Standards, including the Head of TS, to be “affiliate” members and benefit from attending the meetings and events from an Authority. This gives Local Authorities an opportunity to support their senior staff development and assist with succession planning within the authority. The Corporate membership subscription for 2011 is £260.
